After my main job at a tech company, I dedicate my free time to a personal side project called ‘ProjectA’. The name might sound unusual, but when the idea first came to me, I couldn’t think of a better name—so I simply called it ‘ProjectA’. Despite the simple name, I’ve been actively developing and maintaining it ever since.
What is “projectA”?
projectA is a closed-source sales and customer management software. It manages the number of customers as well as the items and invoices corresponding to the customers in the system, and manages the source of income based on the amount owed by the customers.
Why “projectA”?
Spending nearly 8 hours at my full-time job often feels insufficient for gaining the knowledge I need. That’s why I started a side project (ProjectA) — to help me stay up to date with the industry. By learning new skills and technologies from the internet and work, I apply them directly to ProjectA. It serves as a personal playground where I can continuously grow, stay current, and avoid falling behind in the ever-evolving tech world.
Is “projectA” a real-world project?
Currently, my only client is our family business. Before implementing the software, the workflow was slow and difficult to manage with paper-based processes. After introducing ProjectA, the efficiency significantly improved, and the business has seen substantial growth in profit.
